How flat is your world?

Interesting article from the Chronicle on a young man who, after not being able to find a job just out of college (with a degree in Political Science, I note sadly) moved to India to “wait out the recession” essentially working for room and board using his English skills. Who knows if this will prove to be a good career move, but it surely can’t hurt. It must be a truly educational experience. And to think we sometimes have difficulty getting students to go to downtown Buffalo for an internship!

There is also a spirited debate in the comments to the article that takes up our favorite topic of vocational training vs. liberal education.
